You may have seen these funny looking scissors before and wondered what they’re used for. Trust us when we say duckbill applique scissors are a must in any well-provisioned sewing kit. Whenever you are required to grade seams (which means trimming seams down in successive layers so you don’t see the outline from the outside of the garment), applique scissors get the job done perfectly. The curved, duckbill shape of the lower blade protects the lower seam as you cut, allowing you to trim the top seam evenly and ensuring you don’t accidentally cut both layers at the same time. We use ours almost every time we sew, especially for tailoring. These handsome black scissors are emblazoned with our logo, for a little flash of pride with every snip!
